James Nicholas, is the president and owner of EasyWebCreations.com. He started the business when he was 15 years old. James has always been very entrepreneurial. As a young teenager, he operated many small businesses from selling baseball cards to cutting lawns. It was only a matter of time, until James founded JE2000, LLC, a pioneer web design firm.
In 1997, James pulled out the local phone book and called about 250 business owners, asking if any of them had any interest in having a website. After about 250 "no" responses and hang-ups, Tony Suarez, of Northern Light Gems said, “Yes come on over, and give me your presentation.” James’ Mom, drove James to Northern Light Gems (remember he was only 15 and couldn't drive). She waited in the car for two hours. She said it was all worth it, when she saw James grinning from ear- to- ear, when he finally returned. James had sold the job, and had a check in his hand.
What did James do next? Did he go buy the latest video game? Of course not, he went to the internet, and figured out how to design a website. While learning about websites, he learned that a site needed 3 things to be visible on the internet:
- A domain name, so no one else could duplicate the same name
- A design
- A hosting account to store the website on a server, connected to a fast internet connection, so visitors could see the website
James focused his efforts on building his hosting business to over 3,000 + websites, while attending Waterford High School, and Bryant University. James graduated from Bryant University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with dual concentrations in Computer Information Systems and Communication. While at Bryant, James won a few prestigious awards: 1st place in the Business Plan Competition, 2003 Bryant Entrepreneur of the Year, 2003 New England Collegiate Entrepreneur of the Year, and 2004 Computer Information Systems Top Student Award. In 2004, he wrote a chapter in the published book, Beyond the Lemonade Stand. His chapter focused on how to become successful, and be ethical in business.
Around 2006, the hosting industry became very competitive. James shifted the core business focus to web design, which allowed him to provide a more local service. He continued to work out of his home until January of 2008, when he moved into Self Storage Solutions in Waterford, CT. The business grew to 3 employees, including James.
In March of 2009, EasyWebCreations.com added another employee, and moved to its current main location: 737 Broad Street Extension Waterford, CT 06385.
Before the end of 2009, the EasyWebCreations.com team has grown to over 25 people. Some work in the main office in Waterford, some work remotely, and some work in satellite offices throughout CT.
